Day 3 - 30 Paintings in 30 Days
Yesterday, we hiked up the Cod Fish Falls Trail in the Auburn Recreational Area. The river was majestic - teal and blue with red willow branches reflecting into it. Quite a flow from recent rains. At the end of 1.7 easy riverside miles, we experienced the waterfall - not spectacular by Niagara standards, but a fine splash! At the beginning of the hike, under the bridge, we saw a riverwide spillover of water descending to a lower level.
Especially fun for me to do this painting as I seem to gravitate towards the precise. I love the juxtaposition of the smooth flowing water going over the rocks , the splashback causing frothy water. Can you believe I'm a Pisces??
